Thinking aloud
I hope my "creative" attempts don't turn out to be too lame. I know I made the right decision. It's unexplainable cos my instinct tells me so that I've found the right one. I'll wait. Take your time :)

Thoughts on a Monday night
Just came back from one of the law student's birthday BBQ. Apparently there's some basketball final between the university students at the court and it attracted quite a crowd..haha. I would stay and watch if it's a football competition. Basketball just doesn't turn me on. And the funny thing is that tonight, nobody is playing football and all the courts are filled with basketball activities. For goodness sake, can't somebody show some love for football?..lol.
On another note, it was good news during Malaysian Studies lecture today because the date of my group presentation is scheduled to be on 24th July. Wahaha..this meant that we have plenty of time to complete the powerpoint and it won't clash with my Malaysian Law presentation. With the first day of presentation on 14th July, it also meant that Monday surely have no class. Aha! This is just perfect for a weekend to go to Singapore to find mama. Besides, I needed to return to Nanyang to collect my original A' Levels certificate and testimonial. Otherwise, I can't continue to study in Inti after 1 semester..hahahaha.

Quiet Sunday
I was surprised today when Pastor Victor invited me to join the worship team as a drummer. The GFS worship team had lost several members because many of them had to go abroad to continue their studies. Hmm...sometimes it's not that I don't wanna join but I feel that there's a constant pressure in maintaining standards in the main service and sometimes I do feel that I'm not up to it yet. In any case, if it's God's calling, I'll give it a try nevertheless and follow His word.
Right now, I'm drowning in the completion of my Malaysian Studies project. Apparently, the materials provided by my group members were insufficient/irrelevant or they just overlap with the extra notes that I have. Looks like I have to use my brains to crap up some analysis and recall stuff that I study from my A' Levels Southeast Asian History lessons to fill up the required word count.
Sigh..in the midst of all the silence *I'm missing someone terribly*. Hope she comes back soon.

Law Nite
It was a tiring but fun night at Holiday Villa Subang Jaya. They said it's semi-formal, but everyone ended up wearing formal anyways and non-red clothings (the theme of the night was red). We gathered at about 6 pm or so and as the law faculty gatherers became more, people at the bus-stop were staring and wondering why these peeps are wearing so formal.
Anyways, I look like a pirate with my free and easy white collar shirt..maybe a drunk and messy one. I managed to catch the long awaited glimpse of Subang Jaya after so long. It was the road mama used to drive past when she takes me to school. Last time was just a place with a newly built shopping centre and lots of construction material. Now, there's billboards and even a private college beside the shopping centre. As the bus turns into the Subang Medical Centre, flashes of memories started coming back coz that was the place where I was hospitalised when I was eight years old. Lol, I still remember the hospital food and the daily blood test injection I need to take. The good old Western restaurant "The Windmill" is still there after all these years. Not to mention Sheraton and the Crocodile Farm. And yea, I do remember Holiday Villa but I didn't really enter the place when I was young.
One of my law lecturers brought her cute kid to the dinner and apparently he's more comfortable with guys than gals =P. Before the food was served, there was some performances by outside people from other universities. Apparently there's a lack of musical talent in the law faculty..lol. Ah, perhaps I may perform there in the next law nite but for starters, I need an electric guitarist, bassists and a keyboardist =p. The performers were a duo, one acoustic and a singer. The second song was jazz but I'm familiar with the first. It's the White Stripe's "Seven Nation Army". Wonderful vocals by the singer but I thought the performance would be so pro if there's an electric guitarist plus a drummer. Btw, the music that was provided during dinner by the hotel oldie band (no vocals just instrumental) was very soothing and relaxing. I recognised a couple of old classics there too.
Now, to comment on the food..I'm absolutely delighted with the quality of it. It seriously made NYJC's prom night food look like crap given the price I had to pay for it. It's buffet style for Law Nite and the variety which I was impressed with was the Western appetizers. The mushroom was thick and nice, there's raw cheese (yay! my favourite!) plus some very interesting recipes. One was the mushroom filled with veggies which my bro always like to experiment and the other was honeydew with bacon and spring onions. Ah, there's also chicken with rosemary seasoning (another recipe which my bro tried before..with a duck..lmao). The deserts were beautifully decorated but I was already very full after going for two rounds.
The bus came about 12 am and by the time we reached back, I was just exhausted. It didn't take me long to crash onto bed and doze off..haha.

Preparation
It's less than two hours to law nite but what a disaster on my clothing department. I've being imagining that I have certain clothes in my hostel cupboard when actually, I left them in Taiping and didn't bring it along with me. I've mixed up my trips of Singapore, Seremban and Taiping in my mind and right now, I thought I had brought my jacket when after searching for 30 minutes or so and to my horror, it's not there! Oh my, looks like I gotta compromise with what I have now though and I'll probably be wearing a collar shirt instead. Hopefully, it doesn't turn out to be a fashion disaster =p. Of course, most fortunately that law nite doesn't require formal clothing..haha.
On another note, the venue of the law nite would be at Subang Jaya. Woah, this would be like the first time in almost 8 years when I would actually enter into that area? It would be interesting to see how much it has changed over the years.

They have done it again..
It's a "lol moment" in Malaysia once again as Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is served up with fresh accusations of sodomy. The poor fella got owned by Dr. Mahathir in 1998 and now he's getting it once more from the government of the day. Well, the timing couldn't be better when there's price hike, statutory declarations and members of parliaments who wanna cross over. Woah, they must have been really desperate to throw up such a thing. Could it be like the desperate coup attempts by Yanayev during the last days of the Soviet Union? On another separate note, two policemen in Terrenganu had made a report that their chief tried to sodomise them. Oh my, I didn't know that the @ss is such a hot sensation in the country now =p
Cynical and crude jokes aside - Seriously, it's easier to convince people that Anwar was a Taliban than a sexually active gaylord in his 60s. Lol, that's the "ingenious" way that some segment of some organization came up with. Maybe they should learn a tip or two from a country down south where LKY and son party co. use better excuses to sue opposition until their pants drop. Geez..Anwar is already married with 6 children and at the point in time where he's going so close to become Prime Minister, not even Michel Foucault would sacrifice a lifetime dream for a few sessions at a condominium. This time, even those that are sitting on their fence about Anwar would easily denounced the validity or truth of a second sodomy.
These are trying times in Malaysia with so many things setting off at the same time. I guess this is the normal process that any country would go through when it is submerged under democratic reforms. Nobody knows what is gonna happen in the future but for sure it ain't gonna be pretty.

Dateline Extension
*Stan punches his fists in the air* Yeeeaaaahhhhh! I thought it was a goner already with the dateline approaching so near. But, unexpectedly, a lifeline was thrown. I'm currently writing for the Perdana Leadership Foundation Essay Competition and the dateline was supposed to be yesterday. I didn't really have the time to complete it due to my law subjects revision and malaysian studies assignments. So, as I arrived on the dateline itself, I was furiously typing out the contents. This is not an easy essay to write because there is a need for research and the ever so irritating bibliography that all university students will be familiar with. As such, I can't just throw in whatever I have in my mind like a narrative. Since last week, I'm feeling the pinch to meet various datelines and it's definitely refreshing now that I can take a big gulp of fresh air with the new dateline at 31st July.
Let's see what are all new datelines that Stan has to look out for : This Friday is the date due for the law article that I'm supposed to submit for the law magazine. 10th July is the submission for the written report of the Malaysian Studies Project. 16th July is Malaysian Law presentation. Well, at least there's no test to look forward to because I just did one yesterday..haha.
